To See The Doctor Or Nurse

Please phone or attend the surgery at 8.00am as these appointments fill up quickly.

Our nurses, Morven, Sharon and Jeanne, are qualified to see you for simple medical problems. Please ask reception if you feel your problem could be seen by one of our nurses.

Routine appointments can be booked up to six weeks ahead.

We use an appointment system, for your convenience. We will always try to give you an appointment with your usual doctor, whenever possible. Emergency appointments are available each day for people with very urgent medical problems that cannot wait until the next routine appointment. If you are unable to attend an appointment, please ring and cancel it so that the appointment can be offered to someone else.

1. ROUTINE appointments are available to book up to 6 WEEKS in advance

If all the advance appointments are already booked on your preferred date you may be offered an alternative date, or will be asked to phone ‘on the day’

2. A LIMITED number of routine appointments can be booked ON THE DAY

Please phone or attend the surgery at 8.00am as these appointments fill up quickly

3. If your medical problem is an EMERGENCY you will ALWAYS be seen the SAME DAY

You will be asked to attend at the end of morning surgery. Please be prepared to wait as we can be very busy (Especially on Mondays and Fridays)

Hearing Loop

We also offer a hearing loop facility at reception and in consultation.

If you are too ill to get to the surgery, the doctor will see you at home. Please telephone before 10.00 am, whenever possible, so that the doctors can plan their rounds.

If you feel that you need immediate medical attention, telephone (01638) 662 018. The receptionist will put you through to the doctor, or call him on his bleep. Outside surgery hours, you will hear a recorded message telling you to ring the NHS 111 Service, telephone number 111. Calls made to this service are free of charge from both landlines and mobiles.

A trained operator will take your call and the message will be passed to the duty doctor who may then either give you medical advice over the phone; ask you to attend an emergency clinic (directions will be provided); or offer you a home visit, if appropriate

Text Service

You can now register to receive information by text message on your phone regarding appointments and health care. If you wish to register for this messaging service please ask at reception.
